# Notifications

> Choose which emails you receive, and understand which ones you cannot switch off.

Go to Notifications in your profile. Every switch controls email sent to you, grouped into a card per service, and each saves the moment you flip it — the switch in a card's header flips every row in that card at once.

With both services enabled you have five switches: Transcription Created and Transcription Submitted under Transcription, and Proceeding Reminder, Order Placed, and Order Canceled under Proceedings.

## What's missing from the list, and why

Most email you receive has no switch here, and it's absent rather than greyed out.

Anything to do with money always sends — invoices, deposit invoices, payment reminders, overdue notices. So do upload links the agency sends when it needs files, and the account emails for verifying your address and setting your password.

A third group can be switched off, but only by the agency on your behalf: the emails announcing a job was created, submitted, estimated, rescheduled, canceled, or completed, and the requests to confirm a deposition. If one of those is unwelcome, ask the agency to turn it off for you.

## Emails to people you invite

Invitees on a proceeding have their own per-person switch, on the Notifications column of that proceeding's Invitees tab — so you can invite someone quietly, or stop notifying them without removing them. See [Manage Proceedings](/proceedings/manage).
