Common Errors When Submitting a Transcription Job

When submitting a transcription job, you may run into a few common errors. Here’s what to look out for and how to fix them.

Missing Required Fields

  • Fields marked with a red asterisk (*) are required.
  • If one is left blank, the system will prevent submission until completed.

Attachments

  • The attachments upload form is limited to 10 files at 10 GB each.
  • Only supported file types can be uploaded. Unsupported file types will trigger an error.

Media Files

  • The media upload form allows up to 25 files, each up to 10 GB.
  • Supported formats include:
    • Audio (e.g., .mp3, .wav)
    • Video (e.g., .mp4, .mov)
    • Specialty formats such as .ftr
    • Zip files containing supported media

Media Length Not Detected

  • If the system cannot automatically read the length of the media file, you will need to manually enter the total time (HH:MM:SS).
  • Adding this ensures that an accurate estimate is generated for the job.

Form Error Indicators

  • If there’s a problem with your submission, you’ll see:
    • A red outline around the affected field.
    • A message at the top of the form explaining the issue.
  • Fix the highlighted problem, then try submitting again.

Quick Tips

  • Double-check that all required fields are filled out.
  • Make sure your files meet the upload limits.
  • Confirm you are using supported file types before uploading.
  • If media length is missing, enter it manually to avoid inaccurate estimates.
