Use this to submit a transcription request for a deposition, hearing, or any other proceeding. A single job can include multiple media files.

Before You Start

You’ll need the audio or video recording of your proceeding before you can submit. If you don’t have it yet, you’ll need to request it from the court.
1

Contact the clerk's office

Reach out to the clerk’s office for the court where your hearing took place and request a copy of the official recording. There is typically a fee set by the court to obtain it.
2

Receive your recording

Courts provide recordings in different ways — on CD, USB drive, or as a digital file download. Common formats include FTR (.ftr), MP3, MP4, and WAV.If you receive a CD and plan to upload digitally, copy the files from the disc to your computer before uploading. If you’re delivering or mailing the media instead, select physical media when creating your job, add a reference name, and enter the total audio length so we can provide an accurate estimate.

Specific Scenarios

If you only need specific portions transcribed, note the time ranges in the notes field. Your final bill will reflect only the portions actually transcribed, even though the estimate is based on the total audio uploaded.Use the format HH:MM:SS – HH:MM:SS. For example, to transcribe from 1 hour 12 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes:
Please transcribe only: 01:12:00 – 01:45:00
You can find timestamps by opening your file in any media player — the current position is shown as the recording plays. For multiple excerpts, list each range on its own line. If your files have different filenames, include the filename next to each range.
