When you’ll be asked
The request goes out about two days before the start — 48 flat calendar hours, not business days, so a Monday morning deposition gets its request over the weekend. The daily sweep means it lands somewhere between one and two days out, with a reminder if you haven’t answered a day before.Booking inside that window skips the request: your confirmation is recorded automatically at submission, and there’s nothing for you to do.
Three ways to confirm
All three do the same thing. From the email — the link opens a page showing the case, witness, time, and location, with Confirm Proceeding underneath. No sign-in needed, and it works from a phone or a colleague’s screen. It’s single-use, and because the same page can also cancel the proceeding, don’t forward it outside your firm. From Action Required — the Confirmation tab under Proceedings → Action Required, one click per card. From the proceeding — a Pending Confirmation banner with a Confirm Job button. The banner’s absence is the signal you’ve confirmed; there’s no separate badge.Cancelling instead
Both surfaces put Cancel Proceeding next to Confirm. Cancelling here cancels the whole proceeding — every booked worker is notified and released, the remote meeting is torn down, and it cannot be reversed. You can leave an optional comment on the way through. If nobody confirms
The proceeding holds instead of moving on. A day out the agency is alerted and will usually chase by phone — they can record your confirmation for you. The reminder email that normally goes out an hour before the session doesn’t fire for an unconfirmed proceeding. So the cost of ignoring it is a phone call and a lost reminder, not a cancelled deposition — but it’s still cheaper to click the button.Worth knowing
- Anyone with shared access to the account can confirm — it doesn’t have to be whoever booked.
- Rescheduling doesn’t undo your confirmation. The professionals covering the session may need to re-confirm the new date; you don’t.
- The request can’t be switched off in notification preferences — it’s a request for a decision, not a status update.
- Lost the email? Ask the agency to resend it. A fresh link is issued each time.
