Reschedule is the button in the proceeding header; Cancel Proceeding is in the menu beside it. Rescheduling is a request a manager reviews before anything moves. Canceling takes effect immediately and cannot be undone. The gate is status, not the clock: both are available at Draft, Submitted, Deposit, or Upcoming, and neither once the job reads In Session — which a confirmed deposition reaches about an hour before its start time. A job still sitting at Submitted or Deposit stays changeable whatever the calendar says.

Requesting a new date

The form opens pre-filled with the current session, so you change only what moves. Pick the new date and times (fifteen-minute steps; holidays are marked in the picker), and only touch the timezone if the session itself is moving zones. Submit Request — nothing has moved yet, and the deposition keeps its original date until a manager approves. Only one request can be open at a time. While yours is pending, a banner on the job shows exactly what you proposed, with a Cancel Request button to withdraw it — withdrawing doesn’t touch the original booking, and you can submit a fresh request afterwards.

If the request is approved

You get a confirming email, and the session moves to your proposed date. What matters more is the staffing behind it:
  • Your own confirmation carries over. If you’d confirmed the original date, the new one is treated as confirmed the moment it’s approved — so propose a date you can keep. If you hadn’t confirmed, the job stays in your Action Required queue for the new date; watch the queue rather than waiting for a second email.
  • The professionals are not carried over the same way. They’re notified, and depending on how the agency handles it they may re-confirm or the job may be staffed again. A date that was fully covered before the move may not be immediately afterwards — and the badge stays on Upcoming through all of it, so check Action Required rather than the badge if the new date is close.
  • A Zoom meeting moves with the session. The ID and password usually survive, but check the Location tab after approval before reusing an old calendar invite.
Files, invitees, orders, and invoices are unaffected. If the request is rejected, the email includes the manager’s reason, the original date stands, and Reschedule is available again straight away.

Canceling a proceeding

Cancel Proceeding is beside Reschedule, and also inside the confirmation card in Action Required — so you can decline a date rather than confirm it. Add an optional comment (up to 500 characters), then confirm: the cancellation is immediate and cannot be undone. Canceling releases every professional on the job, closes any pending reschedule request, deletes the Zoom meeting, and kills the job’s emailed links. A canceled proceeding moves to Past with its summary, files, orders, and invoices still readable; Location and Invitees are hidden.
A cancellation close to the date may attract a late cancellation fee — check your service agreement before canceling at short notice.

Which one do I want?

Going ahead on a different day: reschedule — it keeps the case details, files, invitees, and your place in the schedule. Genuinely off: cancel, and rebooking later means a fresh Create a Proceeding.
